About
My name is Dale and I live in San Jose. There, I said it and I'm not ashamed. No, San Jose is not known to be as hip as San Francisco, Portland or even Berkeley, but that's not a bad thing. We have an incredibly diverse population, a great job market and a vast array of choices when it comes to food, coffee and alcohol. We have great food trucks, artisan coffee shops, awesome mexican food, some of the best pizza I've had in the bay and a lot more. I will highlight as many of these fine establishments as I can and hopefully give you a few ideas for new spots to check out in areas you hadn't thought of.
Who is writing this stuff?
My name is Dale Federighi and in 2009 we made the move from the East Bay to a quiet little neighborhood in San Jose called Willow Glen. One of the best decisions we've made thus far. I spend my days developing software, my nights spending time with and helping take care of my family and the time in between is filled with skateboarding, music and of course, eating. I have an amazing wife and 3 young boys, the most demanding of which is our first born: a quirky black pug named Sir Thomas.
Why another food blog?
I'm a fan of really great sites like
Eater, but they rarely cover San Jose or the South Bay. I really believe that there is a lot more to our food scene than many realize, and with this site I'm hoping to do my small part to bring San Jose into the conversation when it comes to great food in the Bay Area.
